A journey that began with Malawi’s fertiliser opportunity opens a new chapter for JCG — connecting people, commodities and markets across Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi and the wider SADC region.

A failed Urea 46N transaction for Malawi became the catalyst for a bigger question: could Commodity RWA Finance connect physical commodities, capital and African agriculture to support food security and UN SDG 2?

What began as an unsuccessful BTC transaction became a lasting relationship — and, two years later, opened a new door into critical minerals, China strategic sourcing and commodity trading.

Behind every strategic opportunity are people who bring experience, relationships and perspective. Meet Michael Leung and Hary Mak, the strategic partners helping JCG connect China’s commodities, investment and industrial capabilities with international markets.

Sometimes the most meaningful business opportunities begin with an unplanned meeting. A journey to Ho Chi Minh City brought new connections, a ULSD 10ppm discussion and an unexpected opportunity that led JCG in a new direction.

What began as a Urea 46N transaction in 2021 became something far more valuable — a lasting friendship built on trust, transparency and the belief that the right relationships matter more than any single deal.

Every journey begins somewhere. Jennifer Gardner shares how a sustainability venture led her into commodity trading, where early challenges became lessons in trust, due diligence, relationships and the realities of global trade.
